Lead of POS Solutions (European time-zone / Remote)

Own and lead the end-to-end POS technology stack, including gateway/switch, Android POS, and SoftPOS solutions. The role is responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and high-availability in-store payment solutions across a multi-market, multi-acquirer environment, combining architecture, compliance, integrations, operations, and vendor management.

Requirements:

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in payments, acquiring, or POS technology.
• Proven experience with POS gateway/switch platforms.
• Experience with Android POS and/or SoftPOS ecosystems.
• Strong background in multi-acquirer environments and payment orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with PCI and scheme certifications (Visa, Mastercard).

Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of ISO 8583, EMV (contact and contactless), and transaction lifecycle (authorization, clearing, settlement).
• Experience with API-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS) and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Understanding of HSM and cryptographic infrastructure.

Operational & Leadership Skills:

• Experience managing high-availability (24/7) systems and mission-critical platforms.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management capabilities.
• Proven ability to build, scale, and lead technical teams.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with payment orchestration and smart routing solutions.
• Knowledge of DCC, tokenization, and network tokenization.
• Exposure to EU, UK, and APAC markets.
  
• Experience in PayFac or PSP business models.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, building and maintaining advanced technology solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and secure POS transaction processing.
• Making technological decisions and actively participating in the preparation of solution architecture.
• Managing transaction routing, multi-acquirer integrations, and payment orchestration capabilities.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and schemes (including PCI and Visa/Mastercard requirements) and overseeing certification processes.
• Defining and implementing the device and terminal strategy (Android POS and SoftPOS), including vendor selection and lifecycle management.
• Owning integrations with internal and external partners, including processors, acquirers, and value-added services.
• Ensuring operational excellence, including SLA management, monitoring, incident management, and business continuity.
• Overseeing security architecture, including encryption, key management, and HSM infrastructure.
• Building and leading the team and defining the operating model.
• Managing key vendor and scheme relationships and ensuring alignment with the Company’s strategy.
• Proposing and implementing new technologies innovatively and accurately addressing a given problem.
• Supporting product development through delivery of advanced payment functionalities and in-store innovation.
